  6. Installing iView

  9. Simple. You can put iView anywhere on your disk.
  10. You may find it useful to have an alias to iView in your apple menu.

  12. As usual just double click on iView to open the program. Drag any file, folder,
  13. hard disk, or CD onto the iView icon or into the iView window and all the 
  14. image files in that volume will appear in the catalog.

  16. The XTND system extension doesn't have to be installed, but if it is then iView 
  17. will be able to translate more graphic formats like EPS, Startup Screen, Clippings 
  18. and Windows BMP's.

  20. If you don't already use a Claris product then just drop the Claris folder into the 
  21. system folder. PowerPC users need to take the 'XTND Power Enabler' file and 
  22. drop it in the extension folder.

  24. The XTND system will be instantly available as the 'XTND Power Enabler' its a 
  25. library and not an extension. This also means it does not cause problems like an 
  26. extension and there is no need to restart.

  28. If you already use a Claris product like ClarisWorks, Claris Emailer, Filemaker, 
  29. or MacWrite then some of these items are already installed. Open the Claris folder 
  30. in the System Folder then open the Claris Translators and drop in the new translators.

  32. After you install the XTND system you can check what formats are available simply 
  33. choosing 'Graphic Importers' from iView's Apple menu, and in the dialog that 
  34. appears hitting the 'Rebuild List' button.
